Patio of the Schools

The building complex is the heart of the University of Coimbra. It was erected at various times. The oldest parts come from the 16th century. The buildings are concentrated around the courtyard, where there is, among others, a decorative entrance with a carved portal and stairs. The buildings contain the chapel of St. Michał's lined azulejos and historic library. The complex is inscribed on the UNESCO list.
