Imperfect Chapels

Unfinished, monumental rotunda that is part of the monastery in Batalha. It is also called the Pantheon of Edward I. The King began building chapels as his burial place. For unknown reasons, the construction was stopped. It was never finished. The king's remains were placed in the rotunda only at the beginning of the 20th century.
