Monastery of Batalha

The Gothic monastery on the UNESCO list is considered one of the most important monuments of Portugal. It was built between the fourteenth and the beginning of the sixteenth century. The monastery bears the call of Our Lady of Victory and is associated with the victory over the Spaniards at Aljubarrota by King John I. The monumental monastery combines the features of Gothic and Manueline style.
