The regional museum is based in a historic, eighteenth-century building. Inside, over 3500 exhibits presenting the history and culture of the region were presented. The facility presents exhibits at permanent and temporary exhibitions, and also organizes the annual event called the Wągrowiec Cistercian Festival.
The museum houses several exhibitions. One of the most important is the historical exhibition, where we will learn the history of the city of Wągrowiec from prehistory to modern times. Among the exhibits you can admire numerous documents, photographs and publications. The second room contains items related to ethnography, showing the folk culture of the region, e.g. furniture, everyday objects, agricultural tools, folk art.
The art collections consist of a collection of contemporary painting and unprofessional sacred art. The exhibition devoted to biblical art has about 280 items, including wooden sculptures, paintings made in glass and graphics. The photographic exhibition consists of 120 photos by Kazimierz Nowak. The photographs presented were taken in the 1930s in Africa.
