Mineralogical Museum
Local name: Muzeum Mineralogiczne
Located in a stylish, wooden villa, the museum presents collections of about 3,000. exhibits. The collection includes minerals and fossils from around the world. The real gem is the Gibeon meteorite from space.
The museum also has the largest private collection of eggs and dinosaur skeletons from millions of years ago in Poland. The oldest include stromatolites from the Kaczawskie Mountains and trilobites, whose age is estimated at 530 - 570 million years.
In front of the building you can see the only Carboniferous Forest in Europe, which is formed by fossilized tree trunks of Dadoxylon, about 300 million years old. The facility has an audio-video room where popular science films are screened. The Minerals Museum was established in 1993.
