The Jan Kasprowicz Park is the largest park in Szczecin. There are 232 species of trees and bushes growing in it, also exotic and rarely seen in Poland. Furthermore, about one hundred varieties of roses grow in a vast rose garden. There is also an amphitheatre in the park where cultural events take place in summer. Nearby amphitheatre stand sculptures, including Władysław Hasior's "Fire Birds".
Together with the Arkoński Forest Park, Jan Kasprowicz Park creates a nature-landscape complex "Jan Kasprowicz-Arkoński Park Complex" with an impressive total area of nearly 100 hectares. According to the archaeological excavation, in the area occupied currently by the park, there was a settlement of the German population of the Jastorf culture which had existed there since about the third century B.C. until the 1st century A.D.
