Jasne Błonia Monument

Local name: Jasne Błonia i pomnik Czynu Polaków

In this vast greenery, there are numerous alleys, trees, flower beds, as well as several special attractions. The most important part of the square is the Monument of Poles' Action, depicting three eagles with outstretched wings. They symbolize three generations of Szczecin residents - the pre-war generation, the generation of Szczecin Pioneers and the generation of those who expanded or continue to expand the city. The sculpture was made of stainless steel and granite. The monument is 22.5 meters high and the wingspan is 6.5 meters high.

In addition, in the square, bearing the name of John Paul II, there is a statue of the Pope. It is a reminder of the visit of the head of the Church to Szczecin. In 1987, a mass was held in Jasne Błonia with his participation, which attracted hundreds of believers.

Plane avenues deserve special attention. They constitute the largest cluster of maple-leaf plane trees in Poland, because there are more than two hundred of them here. The avenues were recognized as a natural monument.
