Helena Majdaniec Summer Theatre

Local name: Teatr Letni im. Heleny Majdaniec

Summer Theatre of Helena Majdaniec in Szczecin is one of the largest amphitheatres in Poland. Numerous concerts, festivals, and shows are organized there. On the stage of theatre have been many famous popular and art music stars, including Lady Pank, Budka Suflera, Thomas Anders, and Krzysztof Krawczyk.

The amphitheatre was built in the Kasprowicz Park, using a natural embankment near the Rusałka Lake. The first wooden stage was constructed in the 1930s. Few rows of benches were placed next to the stage, and the rest of the audience could take a place on the grass.

In the second half of the 20th century, it was decided to build a large amphitheatre. The project of the facility was made by Zbigniew Abrahamowicz. Due to the implementation problems, no roofing was built at that time. It only has been added during the renovation in 2000.

The Summer Theatre is an incredible attraction of the city. Together with the park it is also an ideal place for a walk and meeting friends. Additionally, visitors can admire Hasior's famous "Fire Birds" ("Ogniste Ptaki") next to the amphitheatre.
