The "Fire Birds" is an outdoor, allegorical sculpture by Władysław Hasior, sculptor, painter, and scenographer. The sculpture is nearly 26 meters long and just over 2 meters high. It consists of eighteen elements and presents a herd of colorful birds shown from the profile. To create them, the artist used rods, profiles, chains, and metal sheets.
The sculpture came to Szczecin on the occasion of Hasior's exhibition at the Ducal Castle, organized in 1975. Then it has been moved several times, until finally in 1994 it was placed on a concrete foundation in the Jan Kasprowicz Park.Initially, the whole sculpture had been covered with silver, but after a few years, during the first renovation it gained the current colors - mainly shades of blue, green, yellow, and pink. Hasior also made a second version of the installation, which is located in Koszalin and is called "Burning Birds".Less
