Archaeological-Historical Museum

Local name: Muzeum Archeologiczno-Historyczne

The Archeological-Historical Museum in Stargard presents exhibitions dedicated to the history of the city, pieces of art by local artists and militaria. Apart from tenement houses and the guardhouse, which contains main exhibitions, the facility also owns the Pyrzycka Gate, the Round Bastion, and the Red Sea Gate.

In the beginning, the museum was located in the Pyczycka Gate, one of the four preserved entrance gates to the medieval city. Because of the small surface of the building, it consisted of only two permanent exhibitions. Today, exhibits can be watched in the guardhouse, two neighboring tenement houses, and the Round Bastion.

The museum exhibits, among others, items from the powiat, numismatics, and pieces of art including works by modern artists. There is also the library with about 10 thousand books on the subject of Western Pomerania and Stargard. Another particularly interesting attraction can be found in the Round Bastion. It is an escape room organized in exhibition halls.
