The Sokólska Museum is housed in a historic, eighteenth-century building in the center of Sokółka. Inside, you can admire three exhibitions presenting the history of the Sokólska Region, the history of the Tatars who lived in these lands, and everyday life in the village of Sokólska. In addition, the facility organizes museum lessons for children, concerts, workshops and courses.
A historical exhibition was created on the ground floor, which presented the history of the region since 1524. It houses, among others, the banner of the Shooting Association, documents of soldiers who lived in these lands and fought during World War II, as well as exhibits showing Siberian Golgotha.
On the first floor there is an ethnographic department, showing the daily life of the villages of the nearby Podlasie. Particularly noteworthy is the reconstructed interior of the country house, as well as a collection of linen products, two-wire fabrics and agricultural tools. The Tatar exhibition presents items related to Islam, its history, culture and traditions, and shows the interpenetration of Polish and Tatar culture.
