Racibórz Museum is located in the former Gothic church. It presents collections of glass, tin, and porcelain dishes, liturgical items, and militaria. There are also paintings, sacral sculptures, numerous archeological and ethnographic monuments, and the exposition of Egyptian mummy with cartonnage and sarcophagi.
The mummy of twenty-year-old Egyptian female Dżed-Amonet-ius-anch has over 3 thousand years. It was brought to Racibórz in the 19th century by baron Anzelm von Rodszyld as an engagement gift for his fiancée. It was, however, rejected so the baron donated it to the museum instead. The Egyptian's name was given to her before she was born. Her wealthy parents visited the oracle of goddess Amonet who said: "She will live". In literal translation it means: "Amonet says she will live", hence the name - Dżed-Amonet-ius-anch.Less
