Museum of Gorals and Highland Robbers
Local name: Muzeum Górali i Zbójników
The Museum of Highlanders and Robbers in Rabka-Zdrój is a modern multimedia museum in which the culture and traditions of the inhabitants of Rabka and the surrounding area are shown in an accessible and interesting way. In addition to the traditional highlander's cottage, Raba has a highlander castle, a shepherd's hut, a chapel and a hut. The youngest ones can try their hand at highlander's works or see the life of a robber.
A new museum exhibition was opened in 2014. It was transformed from a former collection of paintings on Jan Fudala's glass. Highlander art still occupies a prominent place in the museum's collection, but it has been encapsulated with many other attractions that introduce the highlander culture and the subject of the Beskid robbery.
Visitors can visit the highlander's chamber in the historic House at Three Madonnas, look at the shepherd's hut and hut, where oscypek cheese is made, and see how robbers lived in their mountain "castles".
