The building of the former Regency of Olsztyn, which is the equivalent of today's voivodeship, is now the seat of the Marshal's Office and the Supreme Court. In the summer of 1967, the inner courtyard was immortalized in the series "More Than Life at Stake", by recording here an episode called "Double nelson".
A three-story building erected on a stone pedestal creates five wings. The main facade is located on the west side. Above the portal located there, between the first and second floor windows there are bas-reliefs by Wilhelm Gieseke from Charlottenburg. The building in the modernist style referring to the Baroque style was designed by Richard Saran from Berlin, and the construction work was carried out by Olsztyn citizen Albert Dylewski. Local field stones, erratic boulders and sandstone from Wielkopolska and Lower Silesia were used for construction. The ceremonial opening took place on July 15, 1911, meanwhile after the second world war, the building has been passed in the hands of railways, and a new voivodeship office was erected on the other side of the street. To visit the boardroom, the permission of the building administrator is needed.Less
