Nowosądecki Town Hall is the most impressive and eye-catching building in the city's market. As the seat of the city authorities was established, the town hall is a very high, multi-storey building topped with a clock tower.
The first building to serve as the town hall in Nowy Sącz was built in the 15th century. Over the years, it has suffered a number of devastation and several fires which led to the ruin of the building and consequently lost valuable documents forever.
The town hall building, which is currently visible in the New York City market, was built after digesting the earlier fire in 1894. The town hall building itself was erected in an eclectic style, with its interior depicting Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque styles. Neo-Renaissance is the main hall of the town hall, or the hall of meetings. This room is decorated with murals by Piotr Spitzmann-Karwosiecki, depicting the history of Nowy Sącz.
