Stach Bridge
Local name: Most Stacha
The Stacha Bridge in Znamirowice on Rożnowskie Lake is the largest stone bridge in the world built by one man. It is a 16 meter high building. In its lower part there is a barrel vaulted tunnel through which a stream flows.
Jan Stach built the bridge alone at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s. The reason for this work was the lack of an access road to the house after blocking the neighbor's current crossing. Stach built a bridge in a deep canyon that flows through a stream. He built constructions with a height of 16, length 12, and width 6 meters.
The bridge serves as an access road to the Stachów house. It also became a tourist attraction. In 1971, Jerzy Jaraczewski made a film about Jan Stach entitled "I am erecting a monument".
