Old Castle
Local name: Stary Zamek
The palace complex in Lubniewice is a perfect place for long walks and enjoy the beauty of historic buildings, today in private hands. Located on the lakes Lubiąż and Krajnik, the complex is a neoclassical palace called "Old Castle" and neo-Renaissance "New Castle" from the beginning of the 19th century.
The palace complex is an interesting tourist attraction and at the same time a valuable monument. Because of the transition from hand to hand among the elite of the modern world, the objects have not been completely renovated and are not accessible to visitors, so they can only be viewed from the outside. The monumental New Castle, which features a high lookout tower, is a distinctive feature of the ensemble. The building was designed by German architects for Carl von Waldow-Reitzenstein. The second, smaller palace building was built in 1812 on the site of the so-called. The Red Court for years serving the German nobility.
After World War II, both buildings were adapted to the needs of the school, and later the recreation and holiday centers significantly changed the layout of the interiors. Nowadays castles, as private property, are waiting for their future.
