Mirów Castle

The powerful monumental building rising in Książ Wielki is a palace built at the end of the 16th century. For many years it served as a residence of famous families and important personalities, and today in its walls is the School Complex. Wincenty Witos and the Team of Agricultural Schools.
The palace of Książ Wielki was built in 1595 for Piotr Myszkowski, Bishop of Cracow, who later lived with his family. The architect and sculptor Santi Gucci was responsible for the design and construction of the palace.
After leaving the palace in Książ Wielki by the Myszkowski family in the residences of the members of the magnates of the Wielkopolska family. Then (in the 18th century) the palace was rebuilt in Baroque style.
Mirów Palace is covered by the program "Renaissance Route in Malopolska", which promotes the Renaissance cultural heritage.
