Kruszyniany Tatarian Cemetery
Local name: Mizar w Kruszynianach
Mizar in Kruszyniany is a Muslim cemetery dating from the second half of the 17th century. Located behind a mosque on the top of a small hill surrounded by marvelously twisted trees and a stone wall, it looks charmingly and mysteriously. It is one of the few Islamic necropolis in Poland. In 2012 was considered a monument to history.
At the entrance to the cemetery are the latest gravestones, which look like Christian. The only difference between them is the crescent and Arabic inscriptions. Next you can see old, neglected and chaotically scattered graves. On most of them, the inscriptions are already torn, so it's hard to estimate their age. The oldest grave dating back to 1699. The most interesting and most impressive gravestones come from the 19th century. They are richly decorated and appear in various shapes, have the form of pyramids, columns, plates.
