The church is a wooden gothic building with Renaissance elements. It belongs to the monuments of the supreme value in Poland, marked as class 0 (class 0). In the church the following relics preserved: an altar in the form of a triptych, 117 wall paintings showing biblical scenes and Mannerist font.
A church in Klępsko was being built during 1367-1377. It is a one-aisle temple with a tower of a pole construction and a brick sacristy. The church interior was made in Gothic and Renaissance style. Altar of the Mother of God with a Child was created around 1400. For the first three centuries of its existence the church in Klępsko was a catholic temple.
During Reformation times in 1576 a church passed into the hands of Evangelicals. Most of the wall paintings come from evangelical times. Paintings are accompanied by inscriptions commenting scenes, that are painted on them. A wooden church in Klepsko is an example of coexistence of art and culture of Catholic and Protestant cultures.
