Maria and Jerzy Kuncewicz House
Local name: Dom Marii i Jerzego Kuncewiczów
The wooden house of the writer Maria Kuncewiczowa and her husband Jerzy is located in Kazimierz Dolny. It was here that the couple came on vacation and later moved permanently. Currently, the interiors show the living conditions of the owners and have been enriched with additional souvenirs. Around the house is a beautiful garden-park.
The first room is the hall, or fireplace room. It houses a lighthouse, which is one of the two objects of the original equipment of the building. The walls were decorated with paintings, and a crib-music box and model of "Santa Maria" by Christopher Columbus was placed on the fireplace.
You can still admire the master's office. A portrait of John Paul II with a dedication to the Kuncewicz family was placed on the table that once belonged to Leon Wyczółkowski. There are also theater costumes made by the writer's friend.
Portraits of Maria and Jerzy were presented in the salon, as well as a unique Hutsul furnace. In the living room is the bed in which the artist died, and in the bedroom there are numerous family photographs and a Caucasian rug, which comes from the house of Kuncewiczowa's grandparents.
