Kamień Pomorski Cathedral

St. Mary's Co-Cathedral, Saint. John the Baptist and Saint. The bishop's Faustina in Kamień Pomorski was erected in the Middle Ages in the Romanesque and Gothic styles. The most important preserved elements of the cathedral include: the main altar, Baroque stone organs, the archbishop's throne, pulpit, baptismal font, vault, chapel with the image of Lord Jesus Brzozdowiecki, the Way of the Cross and a close with cloisters.
The co-cathedral in Kamień Pomorski was founded in 1176 by the Pomeranian prince Kazimierz I. The church was completed in the 15th century. It is a brick Romanesque-Gothic three-nave basilica. In 1934 a massive neo-Gothic tower block was added. It is crowned with a hipped helmet, with a Latin cross at the top.
The temple was founded as a Roman Catholic cathedral. In the years 1544-1648 it was a Lutheran cathedral, in the period 1544-1812 the Lutheran chapter was located here. In the years 1817-1945 a parish church of the Prussian Union Church was created here. After the Second World War, again a Roman Catholic church, originally a parish, and from 1972 a co-cathedral.
