JAROSŁAWIECPoland
Jarosławiec lighthouse
Local name: Latarnia morska
The thirty-three-meter high lighthouse for many years indicated a safe route for sailors. It is located about 400 meters from the seashore and became now an ideal vantage point. You can admire a picturesque panorama of the area from its top. You can get to the top of the building using the spiral stairs inside the building.
Lighthouse Jarosławiec was built in 1829 and thanks to it sailors were able to safely bypass numerous shallows located in the area. A red, glazed brick was used for the construction of the building. It was built on the plan of the circle, in the vicinity of an old building, which is a remnant of the previous lighthouse. At the beginning of the twentieth century it was rebuilt, retaining its original shape.Less
