Janów Podlaski Stud

Local name: Stadnina koni w Janowie Podlaskim

Historic stud farm in Janów Podlaski besides beautiful Arabian horses, has also many monuments on it's area. The park is surrounded by a nineteenth-century stables complex, two of which were designed by the famous architect Henryk Marconi. The facility is open to visitors. Hiring a guide allows you to visit the stables and learn more about the history of horse breeding. Guided tour takes about half an hour.

A restaurant and a small hotel operate at the stud. Horse rides and hippotherapy are also offered here, and from time to time you can watch a riding competition. The place is known for the largest Arabian horse breeding in Poland. Currently, there are around 300 horses here, represented by 8 male and 14 female lines. Since 1928 horses from Janów have been participating in international shows and races, winning numerous awards.

In addition to the Arabian horses, the stud farm has also Anglo-Arabian horse breeding, that is represented by 9 female families. These horses are characterized by exceptional jumping abilities, efficient movement and excellent character, thanks to which they are great as sport horses. The stud farm in Janów Podlaski exists since 1817, when Jan Ritz brought the first herd.
