At the Museum of Fisheries in Hel you can learn the history of the Baltic Sea, fisheries in the Gulf of Gdansk and the Vistula Lagoon and the history of the Hel Peninsula itself. Exhibits are inside and outside the building.
In the middle of the museum are presented ethnographic exhibitions of boats and fishing equipment from the Bay of Puck and the south coast of the Baltic Sea. There are also flora and fauna from those areas. A permanent exhibition is entitled "The History of Fisheries in the Gulf of Gdańsk". It was created according to the scenario of Director of the National Maritime Museum in Gdansk, dr. Eng. Jerzy Litvin. The author of the art project is prof. Aleksander Widyński from Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk.
Fishing Museum in Hel is housed in the historic St. Peter and Paul Church of St John the Evangelical. It is located in the city center, near the harbor. It was opened in 2016 and is a branch of the National Maritime Museum in Gdansk.
