It was built on a rectangular plan measuring 10 mx 19 m. Originally it had five floors. In the 17th century, an octagonal, two-storey superstructure with a baroque helmet was erected.

The cathedral tower in Gorzów Wielkopolski has a defensive character. If the enemy penetrated through the outer fortifications, it was to serve as a shelter and a place of defense. Arrangement of window openings on the sixth floor made it possible to carry out artillery fire from small guns.
