City of Gdynia Museum

A visit in the Museum of the City of Gdynia is a history lesson concerning primarily the period of the Second Polish Republic (1918-1945). The exhibitions include photographs, postcards and negatives showing the city, documents belonging to its residents, everyday objects, and others.

A separate exhibition contains memorabilia related to the life of important people connected with the city. In the museum a library with a collection of over 11,000 volumes is located as well.

The Museum of the City of Gdynia is situated just by the coast in the central part of the city. Its headquarters was opened in 2007 and since then several tens of thousands of objects have been gathered there.
