Chopin's Manor

Local name: Dworek Chopina

The building located in the Spa Park is a symbol and at the same time a cultural center of Duszniki Zdrój. You can see here souvenirs of Fryderyk Chopin, as well as listen to recitals, operettas, and concerts taking place here throughout the year. In the famous manor in the first half of August, the International Chopin Festival takes place. It also organizes the Mendelson Festival and Epoch Music.

The spa theater was created in 1802-1805 thanks to the personal commitment of Frederick II, then King of Prussia. At the same time, the building served as a theater, concert hall, gallery, socializing venue, and even organized balls.

Today's Chopin's Manor House was named for celebrating the stay and concert of a brilliant musician in 1826. The composer spent the summer in Duszniki on a cure and during his stay he gave his first charity concert here. The International Chopin Festival taking place in his honor is the oldest piano festival in the world. From 1946, many world-famous pianists took part in it, among others Halina Czerny - Stefańska, Adam Harasiewicz, Fu Tsong, Krystian Zimerman and many others.
