Krystyna and Wlodzimierz Tomek Natural History Museum
Local name: Muzeum Przyrodnicze im. Krystyny i Włodzimierza Tomków
Museum of Natural History Krystyna and Włodzimierz Tomków in Ciężkowice is a private institution. You can see animal models found in the Carpathians. Various natural environments of the Beskids and Foothills are also shown here.
The museum was founded in 1989 by naturalists Krystyna and Włodzimierz Tomków. At the beginning of the 21st century, it was thoroughly modernized. A modern exhibition was created then, and a conference room was built in which classes and lectures can be conducted.
The Museum has specially prepared showcases with models of animals living in the Beskids and the Foothills. They were placed in a characteristic environment for a given species. Under the glass floor you can see examples of plant meadow environments with different species of herbs, grasses and flowers. The attraction of the museum is a life-size cave model with elements of dripstone.
