In dealing with the historic building gallery it presents a permanent exhibition having the nature of the problem-chronological, presenting the main trends trends in Polish art of the last century. Besides watching the works themselves can also get to know the figure of the artist, which presents films by Joseph Robakowski. The museum collection included works by impressionists Pankiewicz, Podkowiński, symbolist Malczewski and postimpresjonistki Boznańska, as well as many other trends and artistic groups. The works presented are related to the world of artistic cities such as Warsaw, Gdańsk, Krakow, Poznan and Wroclaw, a separate exhibition is devoted to also artists from the region of Bydgoszcz. Gallery occupies a historic building today the Red Granary, built in 1861 as a steam mill equipped with eight line grinding. Despite the original name mills Camphausa today is known as the Red Granary because of its distinctive brick facade. Mill since 1979, is operated by the museum, and since 1997 is the property of the institution.
