The Museum of the Biłgoraj Region presents the history and life of the population of Bilgoraj and its surroundings. There are several thematic exhibitions that focus primarily on folk costumes and the history of the city and surrounding area during World War II. There is also a collection of Lithography "Polish Types" from the 1920s.
The museum has been in operation since 1966. Its base was the collection of regionalist Michał Pękalski. The main exhibition is devoted to the history of Biłgoraj and its environs during the Second World War, and above all to the largest partisan battle of this period under the Osuchami. The museum presents weapons, documents and equipment of guerrilla units.
A completely different topic is devoted to the exhibition "Polish Types". It's the lithographs of Gustav Pillati from the first half of the twentieth century. They show the appearance of the surrounding area. This involves displaying folk costumes and furniture for storage. They are on display "From the perches to the closet".
