Helleren in Jøssingfjord

These historic wooden houses were built under a rocky overhang in the 19th century. "Helleren" (igneous rock - anortosite) has been used as a shelter for many thousands of years, the first traces of settlement found date back to the 16th century. The houses can be visited today, managed by the Dalane folkemuseum.
