Månafossen is the largest waterfall in the Norwegian region of Rogaland, precisely in the town of Ålgård. It is also one of the highest free fall waterfalls in Norway: it ranks ninth. It is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the region, with the nearby Friluftsgarden Mån farm.
Månafossen is a popular climbing spot - a four-hour, medium-intensity trail leads to it, enriched with steps and chains to facilitate the hike. At the end of the route, a viewpoint awaits tourists, and at the foot a waterfall with a 92-meter free fall.
When visiting Månafossen, it is also worth checking out Friluftsgarden Mån, which is the first farm created in the Fidjadalen valley. Around the main building are many remains of a medieval mountain farm that was used until 1915. In the basement there is, among other things, an exhibition presenting the history of the mountain farm.
