Local name: Haags Historisch Museum

The Hague Historical Museum presents the history of the city. You can find here paintings of painters such as Jan van Ravesteyn, Paulus Constantijn La Fargue and Jan Steen, everyday objects and furniture, mainly from the 16th-21st centuries. The history of the city during World War II was also discussed in detail.

The Hague Historical Museum also has a reconstructed 19th-century salon. Children visiting this place can find out what life was like in this city in the 19th century. A great attraction is the unique dollhouse by Lita de Ranitz. In addition to permanent exhibitions, temporary exhibitions are also organized here, always closely related to the city, its inhabitants and history.

The building in which the museum is located is also interesting. It was built in 1636 according to the design of Arent van 's-Gravesande. It is characterized by a classical facade with four Ionic columns, topped with a tympanum.
