The transport company, founded in 1908 by Gerrit Doeksen and sons, currently operates ferry connections between Harlingen and the islands of Wadden, Vlieland and Terschelling. The company built its position by introducing, in the 1970s, the first fast catamarans for passenger transport in the Netherlands.
