Fort in the Botshol

The historic fort was built in 1885 to guard access to the dyke along the Wavre and the dry land in the polder. It is the only fort from the fortification system that has preserved the original earthworks from the second half of the 19th century. Together with the other Amsterdam forts, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
