Castle of St. John
Local name: Dvorac svetog Ivana
The fortifications of the city of Kotor have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1979. Originally, the wall surrounding the city was 4.5 km long, up to 20 m high, and its thickness ranged from 2-16 m. Fortifications were created and rebuilt from the 11th to the 19th century. Currently, they are a preserved ruin and an excellent viewing point.
