Jurbork is a town on the Nemunas that has preserved a large part of its former buildings. In the past, a large proportion of its inhabitants were Jews, and the city was multicultural and multi-religious.
The picturesque location on the Nemunas makes Jurbork one of the hidden gems of Lithuania. There is min. considered to be one of the most beautiful Nemenian mounds, the Seredžius Mound. Its creation is related to the construction of a fortified castle in the 13th century, but according to legend, the Roman commander Palemonas was to be buried here.
In the town itself, you can visit the historic center with low houses and a neo-Gothic church. One of the most important historical attractions is the Red Castle, which dates back to the Middle Ages. Currently, there is a school in the former noble residence. On the other hand, there is a tourist information point in the classicist Dwór Jurberków located in the park.
