One of the most characteristic buildings in the old part of Riga and a symbol of the city. The beginnings of the side of the church date back to 1209, but it obtained its present appearance only in the mid-17th century after the construction of a baroque tower with a two-story spire.
Due to the enormous damage from World War II, the temple was restored in the mid-20th century. Unfortunately, none of the elements of its rich, baroque interior have survived. Currently, there is a viewing point on the 123 m high tower from which you can admire the panorama of the city.Less
