The basilica is a Renaissance building on the central square of Vicenza. The most characteristic feature of the building is the loggia, which is one of the first examples of a palladian window designed by the young architect Andrea Palladia. The building dates from the fifteenth century, and since 1994, along with other city monuments, is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
