One of the few surviving coastal defense towers that defended the Kingdom of Naples in the past. It was built in the second half of the 16th century, and its upper parts were added in later centuries. The building stands on the seashore, in a protected area due to the presence of numerous species of sea birds. Currently, it houses a veterinary center and a small maritime museum.
