Roman Villa of the Casale

Very well preserved ruins of a Roman holiday villa from the 4th century AD Due to the very high artistic and cultural value, the building was inscribed on the UNESCO list in 1997.

The luxurious villa consisted of about 50 rooms arranged around the courtyard. There were living rooms, baths, a gym and utility rooms. In the villa you can admire the magnificent mosaics depicting hunting and fishing scenes, quadriga races and resting in the bathhouses.
