The village is part of the Marciana commune and is located on the last stretch of the Pomonte Valley. The first records of the ancient town come from the 13th and 14th century documents. The most important monuments are the Church of Santa Lucia built in 1913 and the 19th-century oratory. The wreck of a ship sunk in 1972 lies in the sea in front of the village.
