Salina dei Monaci Nature Reserve

A nature reserve covering the area of the former depression, from which sea salt was obtained from the beginning of the 18th century. From the mid-twentieth century, the degraded area began to be brought back to life. Today there is a salt lake with many water and marsh birds, and its shores are overgrown with salt-loving vegetation.
