Abbey of Santa Maria

The abbey was founded at the beginning of the 11th century. It is the only surviving monastery of the Byzantine-Italian rite. The abbey was entered in the register of Italian monuments. The complex houses the first scientific laboratory for the conservation of bibliographic heritage in Italy.
