DESENZANO DEL GARDAItaly
Piazza Malvezzi
Local name: Piazza Malvezzi
One of the most important city squares was built in the 16th century by the architect Giulio Todeschini. The surrounding arcades originally housed grain stores, and the square hosted one of the largest agricultural markets in northern Italy. There is a statue of St. Angela Merici, foundress of the Ursuline Order, now the patron saint of the city.
