Today's saint, Pope John Paul II, visited Cremona during the Italian pilgrimage in 1992. The park named after him is a popular recreational area where two outstanding artists who were born in Cremona were commemorated - Monteverdi (1567-1643) and Stradivarius (1643-1737 ).
