The palace was the seat of Count Balbiani in the 15th century. Destroyed in 1525, the building has retained its original facade with two cylindrical towers. The present shape of the building is the result of conservation work carried out in the 18th century. The last corrections were made by Giovanni Battista Mazzini in 1930.
