Necropolis of Banditaccia

The large Etruscan cemetery reflects the different types of funeral practices that were used from the 9th to 1st centuries BC. There are various tombstones here, some monumental, others carved into the rock, and still others decorated with famous murals and mounds. The necropolis includes thousands of tombs and is organized on an urban plan with streets, squares and neighborhoods.
