Polish soldiers who died in the Battle of Monte Cassino in 1944 are buried here. The cemetery was established on the initiative of Władysław Anders, at the turn of 1944–1945 under the direction of Eng. Tadeusz Muszyński, designed by architects Wacław Hryniewicz and Jerzy Skolimowski.
